Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), a statutory body under the administrative control of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Govt. of India, is the National Standards Body of India and is responsible for activities in the field of Standardization, Product and System Certification, Hallmarking of Gold/Silver Jewellery, Laboratory Testing etc., in the country. BIS is also responsible for Standardization and Certification at the International level

Educational Qualification for BIS Recruitment 2023

Candidates must possess : 

• Scientist ‘B’ – Agriculture Science : Bachelors’ degree in Agriculture and Master’s degree in any of the following sub-disciplines: Agronomy Soil Sciences/ Soil Science & Agriculture Chemistry Agriculture Entomology/ Entomology Agricultural Chemicals/Chemistry and Corresponding Exam: ICAR AICE-JRF/SRF(Ph.D) – 2023 in any of the following sub-disciplines: a. Agronomy b. Soil Sciences/ Soil Science & Agriculture Chemistry c. Agriculture Entomology/ Entomology d. Agricultural Chemicals/Chemistry
• Scientist ‘B’ – Civil Engineering : Degree in Civil Engineering [The Degree of Essential Qualification must be in “Civil” Engineering/Technology. In case of dual specialization/ qualification, “Civil” Engineering/Technology must be appearing as major specialization in the Degree of essential qualification.] and Having valid GATE score of 2021/2022/2023. The GATE score must be valid as on 03.11.2023 (closing date of application) in paper code – Civil Engineering (CE)
  
• Scientist ‘B’ – Electrical Engineering : Degree in Electrical Engineering [The Degree of Essential Qualification must be in “Electrical” Engineering/Technology. In case of dual specialization/ qualification, “Electrical” Engineering/Technology must be appearing as major specialization in the Degree of essential qualification.} and Having valid GATE score of 2021/2022/2023. The GATE score must be valid as on 03.11.2023 (closing date of application) in paper code – Electrical Engineering (EE)
• Scientist ‘B’ – Textile Engineering : Degree in Textile Engineering [The Degree of Essential Qualification must be in “Textile” Engineering/Technology. The Degree of Fibre Engineering/Jute Engineering/Textile Chemistry etc. will not be applicable. In case of dual specialization/ qualification, “Textile” Engineering/Technology must be appearing as major specialization in the Degree of essential qualification.] and Having valid GATE score of 2021/2022/2023. The GATE score must be valid as on 03.11.2023 (closing date of application) in paper code – Textile Engineering and Fibre Science (TF)
  

Age Limit for BIS Recruitment 2023

Maximum Age Limit : 30 years

Age Relaxation: For SC/ST candidates, a 5-year relaxation is offered, whereas for OBC candidates, it’s 3 years. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) have different age relaxations based on their category.

Selection Process for BIS Recruitment 2023

• Examination score for Agriculture Science
• Personal Interview

Salary – Rs.15,600/- to Rs.39,100/-
